AOMEI Partition Assistant Home Edition

If you're like me, then you probably have several partitions on your PC. I have 2. C:  is significantly larger then H:. It was the other way around, but I had to reformat recently and for some reason, the partitions swapped labels. Suddenly, H: announces every 5 minutes or so that it is critically low on space. Oddly enough, this was the partition I had just reformatted. I knew it was possible to take memory from one parition and give it to another, but I wasn't sure how.

That's when I found this little gem.

Partition Assistant Home Edition from AOMEI has a sleek yet simple layout. It didn't take me long to figure out the program, as all option names are straight to the point. With this tool, you can clone your hard drive, merge two or more partitions or split up one large partition, and format or even delete partitions. 

However, my favorite feature is the one I downloaded this program for in the first place: Adding space to a partition that desperately needed it. And this program couldn't make it any simpler.    

As you can see in this screen capture,  I am adding space allocated from my C: to my H: . No need to know the intricacies of partitions here. Just use the slider to reduce the size of your larger partition. This program will then give you the option to add this space to your smaller partition.. The time it takes to transfer memory depends on how much you are transferring. Here, I am transferring 10 GBs. This took less then a minute.  No need to restart and no need to worry about your data, as this program works without altering any of your  files. For a full list of features, click here : 

There is a Professional Edition, but the Home Edition works just fine, doing more then some of the paid partition utilities you find online. For a free software, I was very impressed and recommend that anyone with multiple partitions download this program.
