EASEUS Partition Recovery

If you've owned your computer for more then 2 years, you may have had to reformat. Or maybe some freak accident happened that made your partition unreadable. Before you freak out, I suggest looking into this neat little freeware utility.

This program is pretty self explanitory. It scans for partitions that may be hidden in your computer, even after a reformat.

The interface is very simple, while each option tells you exactly what it does in a way that 5 year olds could understand.

For being so simple, it is a VERY powerful tool. This is a must have, ESPECIALLY if your computer is a hand-me-down. You don't know what the previous owner did to the computer (and sometimes, it's best not to know... Don't ask how I know that...) .

When you get to the scan options you have two choices:

Fast is a good option to start with. It's quick and you don't have to wait long for your results to pop up. You may be surprised at what you find.

Seriously, I have no idea where those extra partitions came from...

When the scan is finished, you can choose which partitions you want to recover. Now, you can only recover one partition at a time. After recovering the partition, you must go through the entire scan again to recover more. If you have a large computer with the ability to handle more, this may be a tedious task, but if your computer is old like mine, with a lot of bad sectors, this method is great, as you don't have to worry abou t throwing out more then your PC can handle.

One of my big gripes about this program is that it doesn't tell you if the recovered partition is corrupted. There were more partitions in the above list. After recovering them, a few were so corrupted that they wouldn't run. I wish it had a feature that would let you completely delete corrupted partitions. To do all of this, you need a separate program. I use AOMEI Partition Assistant Home Edition. (Read my review of this program here. )

Over all, it does a lot for a free program and is a must have on older computers. But I still think it would be better if it told you what partitions were corrupted and give you the chance to delete them. (Quick note: Older partitions take up a lot of space. Getting rid of old corrupt partitions frees up disc space that you can add to your current partition or use to create a whole new partition)

I give this program a 75% Approval Rating.
